Jaisalmer tour packages, desert camping and taxi service

Desert camps at Sam and Khuri, camel and jeep safari, sightseeing and taxis — all run by us, on the ground in Jaisalmer.

Offbeat Jaisalmer

The Jaisalmer most visitors never see

Every camp in Sam sells the same evening — a camel, a sunset, a folk show. Everything below is ours to run, from an overnight caravan out of Khuri to the jeeps on the dunes behind sunset point.

Night Under the Open Sky

Beds made up on open sand a walk away from camp, with a caretaker on watch until morning. No canvas overhead and no light for forty kilometres. On a new moon the Milky Way is visible to the naked eye from where you are lying.

Offbeat · overnight

Overnight Khuri Camel Safari

Out from Khuri in the afternoon and keep going past where the day trips turn back. Dinner cooked on a fire in the dunes, beds made up on the sand where the caravan stops, and back by mid-morning. No camp, no generator, no other group — the handlers, the camels and a sky with nothing in it.

Table laid with candles and glassware for an outdoor dinner at sunset
Most booked add-on

Dinner on the Dunes

A table carried out well beyond the camp lights — lanterns, a cook working on the sand, and a Rajasthani thali made to whatever you ask for. A folk singer if you want one, silence if you don't. More proposals happen here than anywhere else we run.

Jaisalmer Village Tour

A half day in the Bhil and Paliwal settlements out past Sam — a potter's wheel, a working well, a goat herd coming in at dusk, and tea in somebody's courtyard. We pay the families directly and we go in small numbers, because six visitors is a guest and thirty is a spectacle.

Adventure · 30 minutes

Jeep Safari & Dune Bashing

Modified Thar and Gypsy driven hard over the deep sand behind sunset point by people who run the route daily and know which faces are safe in which month. Roll bars and belts fitted, and priced per vehicle so a family pays once.

Quad bikes lined up on a desert dune ready for a ride
Adventure · 15–30 min

Quad Biking

Self-drive ATVs on a graded dune circuit with a briefing and a helmet. Sixteen and over to drive, any age pillion with an instructor.

Adventure · 10 minutes

Parasailing

A towed ascent over the dune field, harnessed and helmeted. Run only when the wind sits in a safe range — called off and refunded when it does not.

45–60 minutes

Sunset Camel Caravan

The walk out to sunset point with a handler beside every camel. Slow, and the reason most people come. Jeep instead if you would rather not ride.

Early morning

Sunrise on the Ridge

Out before first light to a dune crest behind the camp, with chai carried up. Twenty minutes of the sand changing colour, and almost nobody else awake.

Every evening

Kalbelia Folk & Fire Night

An hour of Kalbelia dance, khartal and a fire performance in the camp courtyard — played by families from the villages around Sam, not a hired troupe from the city.

Acacia trees scattered across the open scrubland of the Thar Desert
Wildlife · 6 am

Desert National Park Safari

A morning drive through protected grassland for chinkara, desert fox and, with luck, the Great Indian Bustard. Forest permit arranged a day ahead.

We can put any combination of these into a private car day. The timings below are what we actually plan around, not guidebook estimates.

A living fort with roughly 3,000 residents still inside. The palace museum and Jain temples fill a morning. Free to enter, ticketed inside.

Patwon ki Haveli

Five connected mansions holding the district's finest stone latticework. Go early, before the tour groups arrive.

1 hour

Gadisar Lake

A 14th century reservoir ringed with ghats and pavilions. Sunrise for the birds, sunset for boating.

45 minutes

Sam Sand Dunes

The main dune field, 42 km west. Camel rides, jeep safaris and the camps. Arrive by 4 pm for sunset.

Half day

Kuldhara Village

Abandoned in the early 1800s and left standing ever since. Sits on the road out to Sam. Ticketed.

Bada Bagh

Royal cenotaphs on a ridge with the wind farm turning behind them. The best sunset spot near the city.

120 km out near the border, with unexploded shells from the 1965 war on display inside.

Full day with Longewala

Longewala War Memorial

The 1971 battlefield with captured Pakistani tanks and a small museum. Pairs with Tanot.

Full day

Salim Singh ki Haveli

The peacock-shaped mansion of a former prime minister of the state, a short walk from the fort.

Find your package

Jaisalmer tour packages by nights, by traveller and by interest

Most people arrive knowing roughly how many nights they have. Start there — each link opens the matching itinerary with a day-by-day plan.

Every Jaisalmer tour package here covers transport, stay, entry coordination and taxes. Send your dates for a written quote — nothing is added at the camp gate, and nothing changes between the WhatsApp quote and the day you arrive.

Before you book

Planning your trip to Jaisalmer

Best time to visit

October to March is the season — days around 22–28°C and cold desert nights near 5°C in December and January. February brings the Desert Festival. April to June crosses 45°C and most camps shut. July to September is quiet, cheaper and occasionally wet.

How to reach

Jaisalmer Airport runs seasonal flights from Delhi, Jaipur, Ahmedabad and Mumbai, mostly October to March. The overnight train from Delhi and Jaipur is the reliable route year-round. By road it is about 5 hours from Jodhpur, 6 from Bikaner, 10 from Jaipur.

How many days you need

Two nights covers the fort, the havelis and one night at the dunes without rushing. Three nights lets you add the Tanot and Longewala border run. One night works only for the camp, and only if you arrive on a morning train.

What to pack

Layers, because the day-to-night swing is 15–20°C in winter. Closed shoes for the fort's stone lanes, sunglasses, high-SPF sunscreen and a scarf for the dune wind. Carry cash — network gets patchy past Sam.

Sam or Khuri dunes

Sam is larger and busier, with the full activity spread and bigger camps. Khuri sits 45 km south, quieter, with smaller family-run camps and much darker night skies. We operate at both, so tell us which you'd rather.

Booking and payment

A small advance confirms your dates and the balance is payable on arrival by UPI, card or cash. Free cancellation up to 72 hours before check-in, outside the festival weeks.

Why book direct

We're in Jaisalmer, not a call centre reselling someone else's camp

The tents, the jeeps, the camels and the drivers are ours. That's the only reason we can quote a firm price for your dates and still stand behind it when you arrive.

One quote, and it holds

The figure we send you is the figure you pay. Nothing gets added at the camp gate.

One person, start to finish

The same coordinator from enquiry to drop, on WhatsApp through your stay.

Vehicles under five years old

Commercially registered, insured and serviced, with district-permit drivers.

Solo and family friendly

Female guests can request a female attendant at camp. Children under 5 stay free.

What people say after the trip

★★★★★
Booked the two-night package for my parents. The driver was on the platform before our train had stopped, and the tent had a proper bathroom, which mattered a lot to my mother. The price was exactly what was quoted on WhatsApp.

★★★★★
We did the Longewala and Tanot trip. Our driver had served in the area and told us more than the museum boards did. A long day, but worth every hour of it.
Anjali & Vikram ShahAhmedabad · November 2025
★★★★★
Solo traveller here. I was nervous about the camp, but the team checked on me twice through the evening without making it awkward. Sunrise from the dunes was the highlight of my whole Rajasthan trip.

Questions we get every week

Frequently asked questions

What is the cost of a Jaisalmer desert camp per night?

Cost depends on the tent tier, the season and how many of you there are. A Swiss tent is the standard option, with deluxe and luxury air-conditioned royal tents above it — all four include dinner, breakfast, the camel safari and the cultural programme. Send us your dates on WhatsApp and we will quote the same day. Rates do rise for the Desert Festival, Diwali, Christmas and New Year.

How many days are enough for Jaisalmer?

Two nights and three days is the sweet spot. That covers Jaisalmer Fort, the havelis, Gadisar Lake and Bada Bagh on one day, and a full evening and night at Sam Sand Dunes on the other. Add a third night if you want the Tanot and Longewala border tour.

Is the camel safari safe for children and older people?

Yes. A handler walks alongside every camel and the animals move at walking pace on a fixed route. Children from about five years can ride with a parent. If anyone in the group is uncomfortable, we move them into a jeep at no extra cost.

Do I need a permit for the Tanot and Longewala border tour?

Indian nationals need a photo ID, which we submit at the checkpoint on your behalf. Foreign nationals need prior clearance and passport details at least 48 hours in advance, and access to some points is at the discretion of the BSF on the day.

Which is better, Sam or Khuri sand dunes?

Sam has the bigger dunes, all the adventure activities and larger camps with full facilities, but it gets crowded at sunset. Khuri is quieter and better for stargazing and a slower evening. First-time visitors usually prefer Sam.

Do you provide airport and railway station pickup in Jaisalmer?

Yes, at any hour. Railway station pickups are usually included free within packages of two nights or more, and airport transfers are quoted by vehicle. Send us your train or flight number and the driver will be waiting on the platform or at the gate.

How do I pay, and can I cancel?

A small advance by UPI or bank transfer confirms the booking, and the balance is due on arrival by cash, card or UPI. Cancellations more than 72 hours before check-in are refunded in full, outside festival and peak dates.

What is the price of a Jaisalmer tour package for 2 people?

It depends on the hotel category, the tent tier and your dates. A 2 nights 3 days package for two covers a city hotel night, a desert camp night, full sightseeing with a guide, camel and jeep safari, all meals at camp and every transfer. Send your dates on WhatsApp and you will have a written quote the same day.

Do your Jaisalmer packages include hotel and meals?

Yes. Every package of one night or more includes accommodation and all meals at the desert camp. City hotel nights include breakfast, and you pick the star category. Lunches on sightseeing days are not included, since most people prefer choosing where they stop.

Can I get a Jaisalmer tour package from Delhi or Jaipur?

We handle everything from the moment you reach Jaisalmer — station or airport pickup, the full itinerary, and drop for your return train or flight. We do not sell the Delhi or Jaipur leg itself, but we will tell you which train to book and hold your pickup for it.

What is included in a Jaisalmer desert camp package?

Camel safari to sunset point, Kalbelia folk dance and fire show, evening tea and snacks, a Rajasthani dinner around the bonfire, tent accommodation with attached bathroom, and breakfast the next morning. Jeep safari and quad biking are add-ons.

Is Jaisalmer safe for solo female travellers?

Broadly yes, and it is a common solo destination. At our camp you can request a tent near the reception block and a female attendant on the evening shift. We share your driver's name, photo and vehicle number before every transfer.

Send your dates, get a plan the same day

Tell us how many people, which nights, and whether you want camping, sightseeing or a car for the whole trip. You'll get a written itinerary and a firm price, usually within the hour.
